Maple Burl & Epoxy Clock
This Maple Burl has some amazing figure to it! On this project I combined Maple Burl with Epoxy. The Epoxy was slightly pigmented with black onyx which makes it semi-transparent. The finish product measures in at a 14.5” diameter and 1 1/2” thick. Once the epoxy was was poured, it was 72hrs of waiting until it could be pulled from the mold. Next, it was off to the router sled where it underwent 4-5 passes to get back down to the wood. Then, it was sanded down starting at 60 grit and working up to 1000 grit. Finally, a coat of Odies Oil was applied and buffed. This was a fun one 😀
